Using this site

Using wsti.org.au means accepting the terms on this page. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Use it for what it is for: reading about our work, finding a programme, and getting in touch. Do not attempt to break into it, disrupt it, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for anyone else, or use it to send us anything unlawful.

What is on the site

We write the pages carefully and keep them current, but programmes change, dates move and venues fall through. What appears here is information, not an offer or a guarantee that a session will run as described.

Nothing on this site is professional advice. Our articles and programme descriptions are general — they do not take your circumstances into account, and a consultation is where advice for your organisation actually happens.

Our content

The words, photographs, video, code and design on this site belong to Western Sydney Tech Innovators or to the people who made them for us.

Quote us, link to us and share what we publish, with credit. Republishing a page wholesale, or using our name, logo or photographs of our community for your own promotion, needs our permission first — ask, and we will usually say yes.

What you send us

You keep ownership of anything you send us through the enquiry form or by email. Sending it gives us permission to use it for the purpose you sent it for — answering you, organising the thing you asked about, and keeping the record of it.

Do not send us confidential material through the form. If something needs to stay confidential, say so first and we will agree how to handle it.

Programmes, tickets and payments

Bookings and payments for our workshops and events happen on the platform each one is listed on — usually Meetup or Eventbrite. Those platforms have their own terms, and the ticket you buy is subject to them as well as to anything the programme's own page sets out.

Cancellations, transfers and refunds follow the terms shown where you booked. If a session is cancelled by us, we will contact everyone registered and arrange a refund or a place on the next one.

At our events

Our sessions are open to people at every level, and that only works if everyone can be a beginner in the room. We expect participants to treat each other, our facilitators and our venue hosts with respect. We may ask anyone who does not to leave.

Where a venue is provided by a partner — a council, a library, a university — their conditions of entry apply while you are there.

Links to other sites

We link out to Meetup, Eventbrite, our partners, and work our community has built. Those sites are not ours. We do not control what they publish or how they handle your information, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.

Donations

Contributions through our Buy Me a Coffee page support the free programmes we run. They are voluntary, they buy no goods or services, and they are not refundable. They are not tax-deductible unless we say otherwise.

Liability

This site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using it, from being unable to reach it, or from acting on general information published here without advice.

Nothing on this page excludes or limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded or limited.

Changes to these terms

We update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top says when that last happened, and the version on the page at the time you use the site is the one that applies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of New South Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
